Hey monkey boys and girls!

Don’t you hate when you have exciting things to talk about and your computer goes belly up? Myspace erases a perfectly written blog post and you spill your rum all over your crotch? rum crotch?!

Well, I’m back up and running and ready to talk about last Wednesday. Not only was it Hump Day (an weekly celebration of the female form here at the Amano blog) but it was also the day Dita Von Teese was in town to perform!!!

It was taking place down at the Triple Door in the heart of Seattle. I love this venue, ultra cool place! In fact I even broke down and had a beer (yeah I know I couldn’t make it past 1 month!!)… actually I think it was 2 beers… OK, fine, it was 4 but they were delicious. Mad props to the peeps at the Widmer beer company of Portland, OR for making such a amazing drink! It was the perfect partner to my savory steak dinner as only the Wild Garlic restaurant can dish up! AAAANNND, as you can see from the photo above… dessert was AMAZING! haha.

Now for those of you who have not had the pleasure of seeing Dita perform live. Please drop everything (rum excluded) and catch her the next time she’s in town. Do it!! You’ll thank me later!

I had a fantastic time. I would have loved to stay for the night show but Emerald City ComicCon was this weekend and I needed to get my shit to-ge-tha for the show! All work and no play makes Amano a dull boy… but all play and no work doesn’t pay the bills. And I got a sock monkey to provide for and rums to stock!

I hope to have a post together to talk about the con this weekend up by Wednesday night. You’ll have a double deuce serving of Amano blogs this week. So stay tuned for that!

A week of geek in Miami…

Intrawebz, I’m back!!

This blog entry cometh direct from cold ass Miami Beach. Yeah as much as I was looking forward to the sunshine and warmth… the only warmth is coming from a bottle of rum… and strippers… and great Cuban food. Ok, I’ll shut up now.

Well Mega*Con was alot of fun this weekend. The redeye flight into Orlando on the otherhand was not! But i toughed it out. Thank you iced lattes! Glad to see some of my peeps there… as well as some new faces! Lots of really cool costumes at the show too:

Saturday night we got my drink on with some old friends, got to see belly dancing and try a new savory beverage! Redrum Rum!

There is absolutley no creepy finger curling or bleeding walls involved here. This stuff is fantastic! I would never betray my beloved Captain Morgan… but this is definatly top of my list! I heard there is a VooDoo and Jolly Roger variety… they must rule! If you haven’t tried it, do it! Today!

More exciting news on the art front, a couple of my pieces were chosen for the Seattle Erotic Art Festival:

The show is May 1-3rd at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. For more information check out SeattleErotic .org on your intrawebz. I’ve only heard great things about this show, so I’m uber proud to be part of it. Making the world sexy is hard work! hehe.

Other than that, just counting down the hours until Watchmen breaks into the theaters! I can’t wait! There will be glowing blue nekkid mens, guys in costumes, and of course Carla:

The Mega*Con / Watchmen Post

Hola Intrawebz,

I have to say that this week is gearing up to be exciting! First off, I’ll be attending Mega*Con again this weekend (SAT&SUN – Feb 28th- March 1st @ the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL). I will be sharing a table with Jedi Pinup Master Joe Pekar so hold on to your socks! Hell I might even bring Spicy McHaggis out with me to snap some pictures with da ladies. He’s a Pimp!

So I’ll have some prints for sale @ the show and will be taking commissions for as many as I can do without my hands curling up into gnarled claw-like appendages. I also will be auctioning off free drawing to anyone who makes a purchase. So make sure you take advatage of that!! And of course you are welcome to stop by the table to chat and oogle the girlie art.

Lesse, OH! I’m uber uber excited, next weekend: Watchmen!! I’m an old school comic guy, Watchmen was one of “those books” that was like mindblowing for the time. Alan Moore just nails it everytime IMHO. Its a really elaborate story to fully capture… not to mention all the characters and effects. I caught a good article CNN wrote about it online. But I’ve been satisfied with what bits and piece of the movie I’ve seen so far. I’m amped! PLUS (big plus here), I get to see my girl Carla Gugino as Silk Spectre!!!! :

I know, this isn’t her dressed up in her superhero garb but gaddam hot! Ok… FINE here she is in her superhero outfit… twist my rubber arm whydontcha! >_>

I dedicate Hump Day to you Carla! ^_^
